You haven’t lost the game. You’ve just found your team. If you’re living with limb loss or limb difference and looking for a way to move, connect, and compete—amputee soccer is for you. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just getting back into activity, we welcome players of all skill levels to join the growing movement across the United States.
What Is Amputee Soccer?
Amputee soccer is an adaptive version of the beautiful game. It’s fast-paced, competitive, and empowering.
-
Outfield players have lower limb amputations and play using forearm crutches (no prosthetics).
-
Goalkeepers have upper limb amputations and defend without crutches.
-
Teams play 7-a-side on a smaller field, with shorter halves and loads of action.
If you’ve never seen it before, get ready—it’s one of the most exciting and inspiring sports out there.
Who Can Play?
Amputee soccer is open to individuals of all backgrounds who have experienced:
-
A lower limb amputation or limb difference (for field players)
-
An upper limb amputation or limb difference (for goalkeepers)
You don’t need to have played soccer before. All you need is a willingness to try something new and be part of a team that truly gets you. We welcome youth and adult players, men and women, and anyone with a limb difference to join us.
