This year, the AASA had the distinct honor of participating in U.S. Soccer's third annual "ADAPTandTHRIVE" camp. This inspiring event brought together a diverse group of athletes, united by their passion for soccer, and provided a platform for connection and collaboration. The AASA team had the privilege of interacting with U.S. Soccer CEO JT Batson and President Cindy Parlow Cone, solidifying the commitment to inclusivity within the sport.

A Historic Milestone: First Full Amputee Match at a Major U.S. Venue

The year 2024 witnessed a historic moment for amputee soccer in the United States. The AASA proudly hosted the first-ever full amputee soccer match played at a major U.S. venue – the iconic Gillette Stadium. This momentous occasion marked a significant step forward in the visibility and recognition of amputee soccer on the national stage.

Unprecedented Growth: The U.S. Amputee Soccer Cup

Building upon the success of the inaugural event, the AASA hosted the second annual U.S. Amputee Soccer Cup, solidifying its position as the largest amputee soccer event ever held in the United States. This year's edition witnessed an expansion in participation, welcoming more players and igniting the passion for the sport amongst aspiring young athletes through the introduction of additional youth camps.

The U.S. Women's National Amputee Soccer Team Makes History

The U.S. Women's National Amputee Soccer Team continued to etch their names in the history books. The team competed in the inaugural Women's Amputee Soccer World Cup held in Colombia, delivering a phenomenal performance and securing a remarkable second-place finish. This achievement serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication, resilience, and talent of the players, staff, and supporters who are collectively pushing the boundaries of amputee soccer on a global scale.
