The 4th annual U.S. Soccer ADAPTandTHRIVE Invitational, presented by Haleon, took place in Fayetteville, Georgia, bringing together individuals from diverse soccer backgrounds and abilities. This inspiring event celebrated inclusivity and collaboration, providing a platform for adaptive athletes to showcase their skills, build friendships, and break down barriers. Among the attendees were members of the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Amputee Soccer Teams, along with newcomers eager to learn more about the sport.

A Historic Meeting with U.S. Soccer Leadership
One of the standout moments of the event was when U.S. Women’s Amputee Soccer Coaches Paige Palazzolo and Emily Maxwell had the opportunity to meet U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlow Cone. Their discussion highlighted the rapid growth of women’s amputee soccer and the U.S. team’s remarkable second-place finish at the inaugural Women’s Amputee Soccer World Cup. With increased support and visibility, the future of the sport looks incredibly promising.
A Gathering of Elite Adaptive Athletes
The event featured some of the sport’s elite teams, including:
The three-time World Champion and four-time Deaflympic gold medalist U.S. Women’s Deaf National Team
The 2024 Deaf Pan American Games bronze medalist U.S. Men’s Deaf National Team
The 2024 IFCPF World Cup runner-up U.S. Women’s Cerebral Palsy (CP) National Team
The 2023 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup bronze medalist U.S. Power Soccer National Team
These teams were joined by several of U.S. Soccer’s Disability Soccer Organizations, including the American Amputee Soccer Association, CP Soccer, and Atlanta United Unified, in coordination with Special Olympics North America. This collaboration continues to elevate the presence of adaptive soccer and fosters greater awareness for athletes with disabilities.

Looking Ahead
The ADAPTandTHRIVE Invitational not only showcases talent but also fosters education and awareness, strengthening the foundation for a more inclusive soccer community. With organizations like the American Amputee Soccer Association leading the way, the momentum for adaptive soccer continues to grow. Events like these highlight the power of sport in uniting people and breaking barriers, paving the way for a brighter future in disability soccer.
