Amputee Soccer Continues to Break Barriers at Gillette Stadium

Revolution Amputee Soccer vs Metro NY Amputee Soccer

On an unforgettable night at Gillette Stadium, Revolution Amputee Soccer once again made history — and a powerful statement — by delivering a commanding 5-0 victory in front of an inspired crowd.

The night was already electric after the New England Revolution defeated New York City FC 2-0 in a thrilling MLS match, a game we had the pleasure to watch and celebrate. The energy from the Revolution’s victory carried right into the amputee match, fueling an incredible atmosphere.

This marked the second consecutive year that a full amputee soccer match was played at the world-famous Gillette Stadium, a major milestone for adaptive sports and amputee soccer in the United States.

Leading the way for Revolution Amputee Soccer was Musabwa Nzirimwo, who dazzled the crowd with a stunning hat trick, scoring three unforgettable goals. Jordan Obernesser added two more goals to seal a dominant 5-0 performance and send a strong message about the talent and potential within the amputee soccer community. Metro NY Amputee Soccer showed great fight but weren’t able to secure the win.

But the night was about more than just goals and score lines. It was about resilience, visibility, and community. It was about the players who gave everything on the field, the fans who cheered from the stands and live stream, and the undeniable growth of adaptive sports across the country.

A huge thank you to the New England Revolution and the Revs Foundation for making this moment possible and for continuing to uplift amputee soccer. Your support fuels the dreams of every adaptive athlete and paves the way for even bigger things to come.

To every player who stepped on the field: salute to your passion, your fight, and your commitment. Thanks to Danielle Potermri for helping organize this whole weekend. This was bigger than a match — it was a movement. You can watch the full game above with commentary from Dylan Potemri.
